What a credit buys
| Action | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| AI card picture | One picture made for a word | 2 credits |
| Natural audio | A human-sounding recording of a word | 1 credit |
| Photo scan | Pull words out of a photo or screenshot | 1 credit |
| Voice scan | Pull words out of a recording | 1 credit |
| Text import | Chrome extension, ChatGPT or pasted text | Free |
A word with a picture and audio uses 3 credits, so Premium covers about 200 fully illustrated words a month. Words already in the Vocapi library come with their picture and audio at no cost.

Questions
What is a credit?
Credits pay for the AI work that costs us money. A card picture uses 2 credits, natural audio uses 1, and a photo or voice scan uses 1. Saving words from text, ChatGPT or the Chrome extension is free. A word with a picture and audio uses 3 credits.
Do unused credits roll over?
Premium's 600 monthly credits start over on the 1st of each month (UTC) and don't roll over. Credits from an extra pack never expire and are used only after the month's credits run out, while Premium is active.
Do I need an account?
Yes, for AI features. Create a free account to use credits, scans and natural audio. Studying your flashcards doesn't use credits.
Is the iPhone price the same?
The prices on this page are for paying on the website. In the iPhone app, Apple sets the price for your country, so it can differ. Credits and features are the same either way.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Website payments can be refunded within 14 days of the first charge; see the terms for details.
